Data Sales Specialist - Asia Pacific (Singapore) Overview
 
A leading global provider of OTC market data and analytics is seeking a Data Sales Specialist to drive commercial growth across Singapore and the broader Southeast Asia region. This is a front-office sales role focused on acquiring new clients, expanding strategic relationships, and increasing adoption of premium market data solutions across banks, brokerages, asset managers, hedge funds, trading firms, and other financial institutions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a new business strategy to grow market data revenues across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
  • Identify, prospect, and engage financial institutions including banks, brokers, hedge funds, asset managers, proprietary trading firms, and other market participants.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and understand their trading, pricing, valuation, and data requirements.
  • Present and demonstrate OTC market data solutions, articulating their commercial and technical value proposition.
  • Collaborate closely with product, technical, and commercial teams to deliver tailored solutions that address client challenges.
  • Gather market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights to influence product development and commercial strategy.
  • Represent the business at industry conferences, client events, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence and generate new opportunities.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline, manage forecasts, and consistently achieve revenue targets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in financial market data sales, business development, account management, or institutional financial services sales.
  • Strong understanding of OTC financial markets and market data products.
  • Experience covering multi asset classes including:
    • Foreign Exchange (FX)
    • Rates
    • Fixed Income
    • Commodities & Energy
  • Ability to engage both commercial and technical stakeholders, translating complex market data solutions into business value.
  • Proven track record of developing new business and managing strategic client relationships.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a regional sales team.
Preferred Experience
  • Existing network across financial institutions in Southeast Asia.
  • Experience selling pricing data, reference data, real-time or historical market data, trading analytics, or workflow solutions.
  • Knowledge of electronic trading platforms, OTC markets, and capital markets workflows.
  • Experience working alongside product, technology, or data engineering teams.
  • Business Mandarin
