Role Overview
The New Business Sales Manager will play a key role in driving revenue growth across financial data and analytics solutions in Japan. This position is focused on acquiring new clients and expanding market share, targeting institutions with no prior commercial relationship.
This is a growth-oriented role suited for a commercially driven sales professional who can engage senior stakeholders, identify complex client needs, and position data-driven solutions as critical decision-making tools. The role offers strong visibility, autonomy, and clear progression within a high-growth sales organisation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities with clients where no existing relationship exists
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities, from initial engagement through to deal closure
  • Conduct in-depth discovery to understand client pain points, objectives, and workflows, positioning solutions accordingly
  • Collaborate closely with SDRs to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads and effective follow-up strategies
  • Deliver tailored sales presentations and demonstrations, supported by strong product knowledge and market insight
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline status, and client interactions within the CRM system
  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, contributing to overall regional growth objectives
Experience & Competencies
Essential
  • Proven experience in B2B new business sales, ideally within data, analytics, financial technology, or related sectors
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a hunter or new-logo role
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers and articulate complex value propositions
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) to manage pipeline and sales activity
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English
Preferred
  • Understanding of financial markets and current trends in data, analytics, or fintech
  • Ability to leverage data and insights to support sales strategy and opportunity prioritisation
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and sales development teams
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
