Profile Summary
The Executive Director / Managing Director will lead the Strategy and Business Partnering functions within the EMEA Front Office COO organization. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing the regional business strategy, providing data-driven insights to senior management, and ensuring global alignment across strategy, financial performance, and operational execution. The individual will manage a high-performing team responsible for strategic analysis, business management information and KPI frameworks that support effective decision-making and business growth.
  
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy Development & Execution
  • Support Banking management in leading the development and implementation of the EMEA business strategy in alignment with EMEA objectives.
  • Partner with business heads and product leads to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify growth opportunities, efficiency levers, and competitive positioning through detailed analysis and market intelligence.
  • Support inorganic and strategic projects, including business plan executions, reorganizations, and client strategy initiatives.
Business Partnering & Coordination
  • Act as a trusted advisor to EMEA senior management, providing clear insight into business performance and KPI achievement.
  • Work closely with COO counterparts to ensure cohesive delivery of business objectives.
  • Coordinate with global COO counterparts to ensure consistent messaging, reporting standards, and strategic alignment across regions.
Management Information, Analytics & KPIs
  • Oversee the design and delivery of business MI, dashboards, and KPI frameworks to monitor performance and drive accountability.
  • Lead regular performance reviews, analysing financial and non-financial metrics to support management decisions.
  • Continuously enhance data quality, reporting accuracy, and analytical tools used across the Front Office COO organization.
Senior Management Materials
  • Develop executive materials and presentations for senior management forums, global strategy offsites, and governance committees.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy in all materials presented to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, ExCo).
  • Support ad hoc analysis and briefing materials for EMEA and global management, as required.
Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the EMEA Strategy & Business Partnering teams, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, analytics, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Represent the COO function in cross-divisional and firmwide initiatives
Dual Hat Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the Dual Hat Policies & Procedures which set out the permitted activities and ensure you conduct yourself accordingly, when acting in a dual hat capacity
  • Responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs, escalating where required
Dual Hat Authority
  • Adhere to the Group’s Dual Hat Policies & Procedures, regulatory and compliance obligations and any other applicable policies made available to you, and as updated from time to time
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a strategy, COO, business management, or consulting role within a global banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of front office business dynamics (e.g., Markets, Banking, or Corporate & Investment Banking).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage senior stakeholders, and influence across complex organizations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization / tool utilisation (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear narratives.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop the team in a positive and constructive manner
