Following the opening of a Sydney office in 2024 and a Melbourne office in 2025, the firm is seeking an experienced and motivated
Technical Support & Cloud Consultant to join its growing APAC team.
This role offers the opportunity to support clients across the region, collaborate with presales and services teams, and work closely with global R&D experts. The position is based in either Sydney or Melbourne and provides a chance to be part of the company's continued growth in APAC.
The successful candidate will join a team of experienced consultants supporting and optimising the firm's solutions, working in close coordination with senior support staff in Melbourne as well as regional teams in Singapore and India.
Solutions include: - A comprehensive and customisable data management platform, acting as a central hub and user-oriented repository for financial institutions.
- An independent and flexible Investment Book of Record providing a robust, continuously updated source of positions, valuations, and forecasts for asset managers.
- A performance, attribution, and reporting solution with flexible methodologies, customizable workflows, and GIPS compliance capabilities.
- A scalable data control and reconciliation platform designed to adapt to market changes and accelerate implementation.
Key Responsibilities - Act as the primary technical liaison between APAC clients and global software development teams.
- Serve as the first technical point of contact for clients in the region, providing product support expertise.
- Support presales teams during sales cycles and consultancy teams during project implementations.
- Manage internal copies of client environments.
- Perform first-level analysis of anomalies, technical changes, and problem reproduction.
- Resolve client issues, including software fixes in Java, and manage support tickets through completion.
- Document product knowledge and features from a support perspective.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of APAC support services, including ticket handling, client calls, and cross-team coordination.
- Handle performance optimisation requests in collaboration with R&D.
- Monitor and manage cloud resources to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot issues with cloud-based solutions and implement fixes or enhancements.
- Plan and execute data and system migrations to the cloud.
- Participate in client discussions on cloud strategy and migrations.
- Manage technical installations and upgrades of solutions.
Profile Requirements - Degree/Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in financial software implementation, support, or IT projects within the banking/financial sector.
- Strong knowledge of:
- XML APIs, Webservices (SOAP/REST)
- Web application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere)
- Messaging systems, HMI SWING/SWT
- Operating systems (Unix, Windows)
- Databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with development tools (Eclipse), version control (Git), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency in Unix commands and ability to review and assess code.
- Skilled in analysing, designing, and developing robust, high-performance software.
- Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a focus on service quality.
- Strong team player with initiative and problem-solving mindset.
- Fluent in English.
