Job Title: AVP – Derivatives Clearing Operations (Gas and Power focus) Location: London, United KingdomI'm currently partnering with a top-tier global financial institution to help them identify a seasoned professional to join their Equity Operations team at Director level, with a strong focus on Derivatives Clearing. This opportunity sits within the broader Investment Services Group (ISG) and plays a key role in supporting commodities clients through exceptional operational delivery and strategic initiatives.
About the Role This is a senior-level role where you’ll contribute to the success of a critical operations function underpinning the equity and commodities clearing business. Your focus will be on ensuring a seamless client experience and supporting the firm's business strategy through process excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage complex operational processes and support major projects or process optimization efforts.
- Take the lead in streamlining workflows, supporting technology enhancements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple business units.
- Identify and resolve ambiguous or non-standard issues, assess operational risk, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders—from front office to infrastructure teams—as well as with clients and external market participants.
- Support knowledge sharing and process improvement specifically for commodities clearing, with a focus on the European Power and Gas markets.
- Establish and maintain effective, scalable processes to deliver superior client service in the region.
What We’re Looking For: - Strong understanding of derivatives clearing operations, including front-to-back process knowledge across systems, instruments, and regulatory frameworks.
- Specific expertise in Power and Gas markets within Europe is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and deliver in high-stakes environments, managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Commercial acumen with an understanding of how operational changes affect business outcomes and risk profiles.
- A collaborative leader and culture carrier who can inspire teams and align efforts to broader organizational values.
- A minimum of 6 years' relevant experience in operations within a financial services setting.
