Summary
  
This is an exciting opportunity for the incumbent to establish and lead the FX & Derivatives Operations team They will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of function including working closely with the Front Office, Product Control, Compliance, Credit, Legal, Risk, Technology and Finance as well as other control functions to ensure the team operates in a controlled environment while delivering a superior customer experience. They will be a culture carrier for the organization promoting an inclusive working environment where their staff can flourish and will develop, direct and drive key initiatives through collaboration and promote a continuous improvement culture.  
  
Responsibilities
  • Establish FX & Derivatives Operations team.
  • Responsible for the day-to- day running of the team including objective setting, staff appraisals and training.
  • Clearly define team’s roles & responsibilities
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure team is aligned to the firm’s strategic objectives and business imperatives.
  • Support the Pan Asia Head of Operations in delivering their technology and operating model strategy.
  • Drive Process improvement and system automation
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with agent/clearing.
  • Support the implementation of new products & clients.
  • Help drive local, regional, and global projects.
  • Retain, develop & attract talent.
  • Ensure adherence to Operational Risk Framework standards.
  • Ensure compliance to Department/Firms regulatory requirements.
  • Manage external vendor relationships.
  • Promote operational excellence.
  • Promote an inclusive working environment.
  • Actively participate in relevant industry forums.
Skills, Competencies & Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years Banking/Securities experience
  • Experience supporting FX & Rates sales & trading desks within APAC region.
  • Strong understanding of FX & Derivatives markets/products
  • Independent mindset and ability to challenge people and established processes.
  • Familiarity with industry utilities (Duco, MarkitWire)
  • Experience in establishing and managing Middle Office/Trade Support, and documentation functions.
  • Previous experience with Murex trading platform.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant banking regulations and their impact on day-to-day operations
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
  • Rigorous approach to controls and the minimization of operational risk
  • Entrepreneur mindset.
  • Strong Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills.
  • Analytical mind & problem-solving aptitude.
  • Strong communication & negotiation skills.
  • Experience in driving front-to-back system infrastructure projects
  • Strong desire to engage with and develop junior staff.
  • Team player with proven track record partnering with multiple stakeholders in complex organizations while collaborating across various teams.
  • A proven record in change & project management
  • Experience in establishing Target Operating Models (either across Middle Office or Back office)
  • Able to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
