Case study

Senior female hire in Regulatory Change, New York

Rather than bringing up a headhunting list of new candidates, we felt confident we could find someone who was already on our database who may be interested

Challenge

Following successful work with a UK based Consultancy firm who were looking to expand in the United States, a contracting vacancy came through in New York. We had to find a senior Regulatory Change VP Director level who would work on an existing Uncleared Margin Rules project. The main challenge was the lack of a core consulting / contractor market in New York, with the majority of candidates wishing to explore permanent positions.

Approach

As Regulatory Change is a prominent area for all our clients, rather than bringing up a headhunting list of new candidates, we felt confident we could find someone who was already on our database who may be interested. After running numerous searches, our team put together a strong shortlist of candidates whose situations had changed since they first registered with us, and who were now open to consultant opportunities.

Outcome

After meeting with several people, the candidate we determined to be the best fit was a female Reg Change Director who was exploring her options on the market after leaving a Canadian institution. Not only did we think she was suitable for this role, we worked hard for her and drew up a list with several clients who keen to speak to her about other upcoming projects. She was offered the role for which she was initially submitted, she has performed very well and had her contract extended multiple times.
