Seeking a financial crime professional that has a background in capital markets and has a detailed understand of the SFA.

You will be part of the Pan-Asia Financial Crime Compliance advisory team managing Financial Crime Compliance (“FCC”) risks, aligning to the banks risk management framework. You will support the MLRO to provide FCC advisory to both the Wealth Management and Institutional businesses on AML, CTF, Sanctions and ABC issues, and ensure internal policies and controls are in place to address or mitigate the FCC risks that the company may face in its businesses and operations.
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide AML/CFT advice to both Wealth Management and Institutional Businesses.
  • Support the MLRO in managing the banks FCC program for compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the MLRO in audit/inspection related matters and/or queries from the authorities.
  • Track and perform gap analysis on regulatory development relevant to the bank.
  • Conduct compliance reviews in accordance with the FCC work program.
  • Provide timely and quality advisory support to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide responsive, sound, coherent and consistent FCC advice, interpretation and recommendations on regulations, policies, products and business initiatives; clarify and resolve uncertainties in rules and regulations affecting business transactions and practices.
  • Establish, review and update internal policies and procedures to meet best practices, regulatory and industry standards.
  • Support MLRO in conducting the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment exercise.
  • Assist and support other members within Compliance function where required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or professional qualification in accounting, business, law or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Crime within the Private Banking / Wealth Management space.
  • Sound knowledge of MAS AML Notices & Guidelines, FATF Recommendations and industry practices.
  • Good communication skills with ability to clearly and diplomatically articulate issues, solutions and rationales.
  • High degree of judgement and good problem-solving skills; result-oriented to ensure sound implementation of control and compliance processes/procedures.
  • Ideally with strong technical skills in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
