Role description:
 
As the Product Controller, you will be heavily involved with Transaction due diligence and support, with frequent interaction with stakeholders across Finance, and plenty of opportunity to interact with regional senior management in various committees. 
 
Other responsibilities will include:

• Take ownership and be accountable for the timely and accurate calculation, verification, and reporting of Daily, and Month-end reporting. This would be performed in conjunction with an offshore team located in Powai, Mumbai, requiring the individual to manage the offshore team relationships and deliverables. 
• Perform regular analysis of the portfolio to ascertain whether the valuations are appropriate. This will include monitoring of the portfolio and assessing whether any mark-up/markdowns should be applied which will be discussed with senior management.
• Undertake critical reviews of trading activity to highlight significant items to senior management.
• Applying strong interpersonal skills, the individual will work closely with Trading, Banking, Risk, Operations, and other corporate functions to resolve booking, valuation, and financial resource inquiries and issues.
• Understand and critically analyze new financing transactions and perform Finance Due Diligence, by understanding the financial resources required on the trade, and assess the profitability of the trade in the context of return on such resources. Identifying and resolving potential implications on Legal entity, Accounting, Treasury, and Tax matters.  Present findings and recommendations to Senior Management for committee approval.
• Represent Finance at various regional Risk and Legal Entity committees, to update the state of business and portfolio to senior management.
• Actively engage in new business and product launches and participate in global finance projects.

 
Requirements:

• Minimum Degree from an accredited University or Professional Qualification e.g. Chartered Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst
• Minimum 8 years experience in Product Control or Valuations with a focus on loans and credit products Minimum 3 years experience with illiquid and alternative investment products such as Structured Lending, Special Situations, Distressed credits, Private Equity, Mortgage products, Warehouse financing or hybrid products
• Experience in USGAAP accounting skills for Financing Transactions and, BASEL 3 rules and regulations
• Proven self-starter showing initiative to address issues as they arise and confidence in analyzing and presenting complex financial data.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated outstanding leadership skills managing and developing junior team members, and ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and display leadership qualities to make an impact to achieve the desired result
• Strong control mindset, and not afraid to ask questions, challenge the status quo suggest changes, and re-invent the process. Desire to drive for improvement and efficiency.
